In a resource intense industry like printing, our company and our workers are aware of the importance of managing our resources in a sustainable manner. At Master Print Communications one of our goals is to provide exceptional and creative products with top of the line technology; however, we deliver these quality print services along with the promise that they are aligned with our values of integrity and responsibility. This is why our sustainability efforts, which have been in practice since the early 70's, shadow what we believe in.

Our Facility and Recycling

Master Print Communications is upheld by a team that shares an interest for the environment. In addition to participating in recycling programs, offering green print technology and getting FSC certified, we aim to ensure that our company practices mirror the very values that our print shop was founded upon. To do this we conserve energy by choosing to turn off all unused and unnecessary electricity, we work in a building with ample natural light, thus, reducing the need to use more energy and we maintain the facility aesthetics with all natural cleaning products.

Our Technology, Products and Services

Digital Print green paper printing

Not only is digital printing personalized, accurate and cost effective, it is also better for the environment. Conserving time can sometimes mean more waste, but with digital printing efficiency is only the tip of the ice berg. This technology uses fewer chemicals, close to zero paper waste and utilizes a distribute-then-print process which reduces energy-intensive transportation, costly warehousing and landfill waste. While soy ink is an excellent alternative to petroleum ink, when set up against the digital printing method, soy ink only slightly compares to the chemical waste reduction of digital. Soy contains 86-percent non-biodegradable oil, digital printing on the other hand uses 100-percent non toxic toner.

TheXerox iGen4 Digital Press

This digital printing press from Xerox supports Master Print Communications in upholding their commitment to environmentalism. The printing machine has become one of the top choices for customers looking for green print. The technology of the press ensures that its use does not generate or use alcohols, chlorinated solvents, acids, or flammable materials. All dry inks are non-toxic and have closed containers with a transfer efficiency rate of near to 100%. In addition to adhering to the European Union RoHS-compliant restrictions on the use of hazardous materials, the iGen4's components are 97% recyclable or remanufacturable. FSC Certifiedfsc certified

The Forest Stewardship Council certifies printers whose products are in compliance with the highest environmental and social standards for large scale forest management. Our certificate is our commitment to printing only on FSC certified paper. Ask us about labeling your job!

AFGA Azura Plates

ThermoFuse is a digital plate making process that forms images while eliminating the variables of chemical processing and providing a non-ablative aluminum plate. It has many ecological benefits while executing a precise image that does not need development. ThermoFuse imaging uses ultra fine thermoplastic particles that are melted and diffused together. With ThermoFuse technology, the heat and light from a laser hit the sensitized layers of the plate to form a latent image. In the next step, the plate is developed. This is the only chemical process needed after imaging as it will ensure a durable and stable latent image.

Soy Based Inks

Traditional petroleum printing based ink, which has been proven hazardous to the environment and human health, contains VOC's or Volatile Organic Compound's. These toxins, which seep into the air as the ink dries, are also known to contribute to detrimental health effects and slither into the soil when printed papers end up in landfills. Soy Based Ink is made out of soybeans and is 100% biodegradable, easily recyclable and reduces emissions as well as the use of VOC's. It is a great option for brightening your print content and gives it a vibrant finish.

Green Paper

Paper requires large quantities of wood, energy and water for production. These resources are not always used in a sustainable manner. This is why Master Print Communications chooses to do business with paper companies that reflect ecological practices.

International Paper

Our decision to purchase from premier recyclers in the paper industry, like International Paper, is because we strive to support the distribution of sustainable print services. International Paper is one of the leaders in the sustainability initiative. Along with globally tracking and reporting all their greenhouse gas emissions from their sites, International paper has also developed and advocated for climate change principles with policy makers. Their commitment to voluntary emissions reductions and the reduction of fossil fuel use has ensured their increase of bioenergy and energy conservation. International Paper also commits to participating in greenhouse gas trading programs in the U.S. and Europe. To top off their energy use commitments, recycling is not far behind- International Paper collects, consumes, and markets more than 6 million tons (or approximately 10%) of all paper recovered annually in the United States.

Mohawk Paper

In addition to the voluntary participation in both state and federal environmental programs Mohawk Paper is an EPA Green Power Partner and a member of the EPA's Climate Leader's program. The paper company offers carbon neutral papers and offsets their thermal manufacturing emissions with VERs and emissions from purchased electricity with RECs from Green-e certified wind power projects. All Mohawk paper is made with electricity generated by renewable wind power and 100% of the electricity used is offset with certified wind power certificates.

Finch Paper

With a strong belief that sound timber harvesting is good for the forest, the wildlife and society, Finch Paper company has used the power of the Hudson River for more than 100 years to generate hydroelectricity from the mill's attached facility. A total of 66 percent of the paper company's power consumption is generated from renewable sources. For biomass, all the solid waste of bark, sawdust and rejected wood chips are collected and burned to generate steam for paper drying (Green Steam) and for more electricity to run the paper machines. More than 75% of Finch's pulp is made on the premises using certified wood in a chlorine free process. This continuous process uses ammonium-based bi-sulfite to reduce biodegradable matter in waste water. All Finch paper is certified by the Sustainable Forest Initiative and is elemental chlorine-free.

Neenah Paper

Neenah Green's environmental commitment provides premium papers with the toughest environmental criteria. The paper company also uses Green Steam and certified renewable energy in their manufacturing operations from a combination of solar, hydro and wind, to lessen their greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to exceeding the highest environmental standards for sustainable products and processes, Neenah Paper also invests in the research and development of new, environmentally preferable products.
